Windows Vista comes with a range of new security enhancements designed to help protect the user. User Account Control is the warning system which prompts the user when an action may be unsafe. Some users may find these constant prompts time consuming and counter-productive. This article describes how to disable User Account Control.

  1. Click "Start" then select "Control Panel"
  2. Click "User Accounts"
  3. Click "User Accounts" again
  4. Click "Turn User Account Control on or off"
  5. Uncheck the box for "Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer"
  6. Click "OK"
  7. Restart your computer

Your done! User Account Control is now disabled. If you wish to re-enable it later, simply follow the steps above but instead of unchecking the box, check it instead.
